About Me
Welcome to Brosius
Photography! I started out in photography back in the mid 80's with a simple Pentax 35mm camera (K1000) and then shortly later added a Pentax ME Super and a selection of various lenses. During this time I was living in south Florida, and photographed mainly auto racing. I photographed the Miami Grand Prix, Indy car races held at various locations in the Miami area, the 12 Hours of Sebring, local stock car races, and the Bracket finals at Moroso Motorsports Park. Back then it was nothing for me to shoot 15 to 20 rolls of film, which now would be very costly, with the price of film and processing it is today. Then in 1995 I decided to sell everything and move back to my home state of Pennsylvania. Shortly after I got back, I decided I wanted to get back into photography, and decided on going the digital route in order to save money on film and processing. The first thing I purchased was a computer (which has been upgraded several times), and then got on the internet. I then proceeded to check out the digital cameras available at the time. For the next few years I used several FujiFilm point and shoot cameras, which I used mainly to take photos of at various events that I attended. Those photos were taken for various websites that either I created and maintained, or for friends. Being an old 35mm user, I was never really satisfied with the quality of the photos from any of the point and shoot cameras I owned, and wished there was a digital camera that was like the older 35mm cameras. Well my wish came true, but they were out of my price range up until recently, when Nikon came out with the D40, which I purchased just several months ago. Now my FujiFilm S5100 hardly ever gets used. As a matter of fact, I gave that camera away recently. Early in September of 2008, I learned that my mother had cancer, and one day when I was visiting her she told me that she was glad that I found something that I was passionate about, and should pursue it further. She passed away on September 23rd, and I decided to take her advice after a lot of thought. I told myself if I'm going to pursue this further, I was going to do it right. So I then purchased the Nikon D300 DSLR camera, and just about everything needed to open up a photo studio.
